        i had epilepsy since I was 4. I understand the problems that come with it. The constant seizures, not being able to enjoy outside activities because the heat causes seizures, not being able to drive. I understand the scared, lost, hopeless, and depressing feelings that come after having a stroke.         My highest weight was 250 I was depressed had back pain didn't want to do anything. I was comfortable because it was all I was used to, so nothing changed. Finally, I broke out of my comfort zone and decided enough was enough I was going to get healthy and after many months of hard work and dedication to a healthy lifestyle I lost 100 pounds.           Mason has been doing a great job with my wife Mary Ellen.  She's normally not a very positive person, but she never seems happier than when she's in the gym with Mason, improving her general physical condition.  

             She had a stroke in 2014 and has been getting weaker since then.  She started using a wheelchair about 5 years ago.  But sh

            

          Mason has been doing a great job with my wife Mary Ellen.  She's normally not a very positive person, but she never seems happier than when she's in the gym with Mason, improving her general physical condition.  

             She had a stroke in 2014 and has been getting weaker since then.  She started using a wheelchair about 5 years ago.  But she was getting too dependent on that.  Now, she is at a point where she is looking forward to being more independent.  Her goal is to be able to walk 2  to 3 miles without

          help.  She has gone on two walks -- one with Mason, and another with both of us.  Both times we did a total of 3 miles.  On the first, Mason ran the full 3 miles pushing Mary Ellen in her wheelchair and had her walk like the last 20 or 30 yards. That was such a great accomplishment.  I was proud of her, and she was definitely proud of herself.  Last month, I walked 3 miles with her with Mason’s help.  I would push her in the wheelchair and she would periodically get up and walk 20 yards or so.  She probably walked a total of over 100 yards.  I think she is at a point now where she may be able to do 1/8 or maybe even ¼ of a mile with breaks.

             We’ve also been working at the gym with Mason.  He has her working on weight training exercises to help her leg muscles, her arms and upper body strength, and her left hand (which is still weak from the stroke).  

             She really enjoys going to the Y and working on her strength.  She has made great strides and is getting so much stronger both physically and mentally.  We were so lucky that we found a trainer who is so helpful, patient, and caring.

          From our first session, it was clear that Mason possesses a deep understanding of fitness principles and tailored programs to meet Ellen’s specific needs. Ellen has osteopenia, and Mason researched what methods were best for her training routines. He would ask me questions about Ellen to get to know and understand her better. Ellen always felt welcomed by Mason, and he motivated her while ensuring her safety and well-being throughout every workout.
          Mason’s ability to adapt workouts based on her progress and challenges has been invaluable. He consistently provided constructive feedback and encouragement. As a result, I have seen improvements in her strength, endurance, and overall health.
          Beyond his technical skills, Mason is an outstanding communicator who built a strong relationship with Ellen. Ellen was always happy to see him. Mason is also very observant.
